Hans Marius Andersen frå Hordaland har spelt seg til finalen i NRK sin Viruos-konkurranse. Juryen sende Andersen til finalen i den store klassiske solistkonkurransen, medan klarinettist Joar Klæboe Henriksen frå Nordland ikkje gjekk vidare.

-Eg trur ikkje det er mogeleg å vinne utan å lage god musikk, men det er fullt mogeleg å lage god musikk utan å vinne. Det seier Reid Gilje som dirigerte to korps til topps i sine divisjonar under NM brass 2012. Til vanleg dirigerer han også norgesmeister Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag.

Kirkefjerdingen skolekorps i Østfold satsar på korte prosjekt for å motivere medlemmene til å spele i skulekorpset. Korpset kan vise til ei solskinshistorie litt utanom det vanlege.

24 avgangselevar i Field Band Academy har bestått eksamen med glans. Samtlege elevar har fått svært gode karakterar. Nivåa er ulike, men alle har fått poeng med «Merits» eller «Distinction».

Marianne Slyngstadli pendlar 386 kilometer med bil frå Ålesund til Bergen for å øve saman med Bjørsvik Brass. Det gjer ho ein gong i månaden. Under NM brass i år kom korpset på ein 3. plass i 1. divisjon.
