Nasjonaldagen er over. Korpsa har gjort ein fabelaktig innsats. Media har vore formidlar av små og store hendingar rundt i det ganske land. Få dagar i året er korps så synlege som 17. mai. Vel blåst alle!

Norske korpsmusikantar marsjerer til saman 390 millionar skritt på 17. mai. 65 000 musikantar går i snitt 6000 skritt kvar. - Andre land har militærparadar, vi har vanlege folk, seier trombonist og leiar i NMF Rogaland.

Dirigentar frå heile landet vart tildelt prisar og pengar, medan Dan Børge Akerø fekk heidersprisen Musikanten. Også trippel VM-vinnar Mathias Langseth Eliassen og instruktøren hans vart heidra under vårens store prisdryss i NMF.

Norges Musikkorps Forbund inviterer alle korps til Landsfestival i Trondheim 26. - 30. juni 2014. Festivalen er i samarbeid med UKM sin landsfestival, og alle NM skulekorps blir samla her.

Samarbeid skole - frivillighet

Flertallet i kulturkomiteen på Stortinget ønsker at det blir bevilget mer penger til opplæring av barn og unge gjennom kulturskolen i skoletiden. Det bør skje i nært samarbeid med de frivillige organisasjonene. I tillegg peker de på NMFs inkluderingsprosjekt, og opposisjonspartiene vil øke momskomensasjonen.

Dei fire norske som var med i European Youth Brass Band er overbegeistra. Opplevinga av EM i Rotterdam var så bra at dei håpar å få bli med ungdomsbrassbandet til Oslo neste år.

Windfestivalen får 50.000 ekstra

Norwegian International Wind Festival i Trondheim har fått 50.000 kroner ekstra frå Norsk Kulturråd. - Dette er ei stadfesting på at vi blir tatt seriøst, seier dagleg leiar i NMF Trøndelag.

Helene Fjermestad har kjærast i Manger Musikklag, bror i Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag og i Rotterdam er både far og søster med. Det er fleire i dei to banda som har relasjonar til kvarandre.
